Sakha Traditional Musical Instruments

Khomus

(Vargan, Jew's Harp)

A musical instrument consisting of a thin metal tongue fixed at one end to the base of a two-pronged frame.

The player holds the frame to his mouth, which forms a resonance cavity, and plucks the instrument's tongue.

Khomus

You are listening to a sample of Khomus play from the song "Ohuokhai - sakha circle dance"

(Album "The Blessing Songs of Nature", track #11)
